This COVID Insurance does seem to be good news.

I am unclear as to whether any new or existing UK purchased Travel policies provide any cover for anything else whilst the UK government travel advice remains "only essential travel".............

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy invited the ambassadors of the 60 [as yet un named] countries sending the most tourists to Turkey, to Antalya & shared with them the measures taken by Turkey for safe tourism.
The Minister said Turkey would start offering a health insurance package covering Covid-19 as of July 1. He added it would be possible for tourists to buy specific insurance policies at airports while buying tickets from contracted airline companies before passport control or else online and via tour operators.

According to the info provided by the Minister fees for the insurance policies will be as follows:

– the policy covering health expenditure up to 3 thousand euros will cost 15 EUR .

– the policy covering health expenditure up to 5 thousand euros will cost 19 EUR .

– the policy covering health expenditure up to 7 thousand euros will be bought at 23 EUR .

The Minister also stated that Covid-19 test centres at tourist airports, Istanbul and Antalya to be in the first places, would be operational within 2-3 days and added that there would be isolated apartments or blocks for positive cases in every hotel.

He said, “Our guests will be able to stay in these rooms. If the treatment phase takes longer than the booking period, which is certainly a possibility, in this case our hotels will offer extra days free of charge. That goes for transit passengers as well”.

Or repatriation costs should it be required.

My father in law died on a cruise five years ago. 90 minutes in the sick bay = best part of £4K. Taken off at Cyprus for autopsy then repatriated to Manchester and then to York. Not much change out of £20k and it’s even more expensive if you are alive!

NOTICE FROM MUĞLA GOVERNORSHIP SANITATION AND HYGIENE BOARD

HOLIDAYMAKERS EXEMPT FROM THIS WEEKEND'S CURFEW

Muğla Governorship Sanitation and Hygiene Board have announced that domestic and foreign tourists in Muğla are EXEPMT from the curfew due to take place on 27-28 June.

The relevant section of the circular sent out by the Muğla Governorship stated the following:

"In order to prevent loss of reservations and sales from tours over the weekend, local and foreign tourists who have already booked will be exempt from the curfew.

They are able to use beaches, visit museums, ruins, historical, cultural and religious monuments, tombs, and go on booked boat tours as these bookings are exempt.

The curfew will be applied as follows during the YKS examinations.

Saturday 27 June: 09:30 to 15:00

Sunday 28 June: 09:30 - 18:30

All Turkish Citizens and Foreign residents living in Muğla MUST comply with the curfew.

People taking the exam and using public transport to get there as well as relatives dropping off the students will also be exempt.

During the lockdown, bakeries, markets, grocery stores, and butchers will remain open.

Last year it was 1300 tl per day if you were in ICU on a ventilator. In a private hospital.
