World Cities Expo Istanbul
« on: May 16, 2017, 09:53:23 AM »
Started yesterday at the Haliç Congress Center running till Thursday and keynote speakers were to be Jimmy Wales (founder of Wikipedia) and Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple).

Not any more.  Oor Jimmy bailed for obvious reasons and Steve obviously just didn't fancy it, citing the technology ban on flights from Turkey as his reason for cancelling. Yeah right.  Who do we have now?  Ken Livingstone and a really really clever guy called Pablos Holman. Exciting stuff eh?

It's only my opinion, but Turkey's continual rejection of global digital commerce, communication & media is starting to hurt its reputation outside Turkey.  As Kevin mentioned on another topic, rumours been bouncing about for a while that since WhatsApp began encrypting messages last year, it may be on the sh1t list soon.

I wonder who the next target will be...

Diane Abbott with a bit of luck...

No need to make Diane Abbott a target by anyone, she makes a spectacularly good job of damaging her standing by herself, no help required there.
