« on: October 21, 2015, 10:00:02 AM »
Being a half timer for the past 13 years the last two years online visa we have had problems and fines!

We ask can anyone help??

We want to continue half time...
 May until end of July,
out of country three weeks or so August
then back in Turkey Last part August until End of October...

Due to the 140 day rule residency isn't an option...
Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you...

Yeah, buy a place in Spain... or another EU country.

Under current legislation you're stuffed.  You fall foul of the ninety out of one hundred and eighty day rule by a considerable margin and if the residence rules are strictly applied, again you run the risk of it being cancelled (it's actually 120 days out of country before being cancelled).

That said, technically you don't have to apply for a twelve month RP - so you could arrive in May on an eVisa, apply for a six months RP then toddle off to where you came from at the end of October and do the same the following year.  I don't know anyone who has applied for less then the twelve months, maybe someone on here knows more.

[/quote]  Yes! All so easy!
The only way we can think is to visit Turkey for a weekend 15th Feb to activate the 180 day visa use the 90 day from May to August.  End of 180 days then buy a new visa........ All so easy...  Do i need this??

Nope.  Doesn't work that way.

The ninety days is worked out on a rolling basis therefore at some point towards the end of July you'd become an overstayer.

Yes! we realise that! We are flexible and would stay up to the 90 days which would include the Feb days.... The days being counted backwards on leaving Turkey. It would at least give the 2x90 days hopefully.. your help and comments are appreciated JF.. Thank you!

You could do that - however if you stayed for May, June and the balance (of days out the ninety) in July, it'd mean you couldn't return to Turkey using an eVisa until late October or November(ish).  If you want to use the two blocks of ninety days in (almost) one go then you need to leave the country for ninety one (minus the days in Feb) days before you can re-enter on a fresh 90/180 eVisa.

The activation date of the eVisa becomes irrelevant when calculating the total days allowed.

If we activate the visa in February then use the 90 days including Feb befor the end of that 180 days, the 180 day visa will end August anyway. we will be back in the UK a few weeks as normal and would be entitled to buy a new e visa for the remaining time until October.   Or are we wrong???

Completely wrong.  You would not be entitled to buy a fresh visa as you would have used up your ninety days.  Go mark it out on a calender and count them up - as of 1st October your 180 days includes the time spent in May, June and July.

Not sure what happened there - I think I "edited" your post, rather than replying to it!  You can see why no-one really trusts me with technology   :)

You are assuming that a new visa will "refresh" your entitlement to ninety days. It doesn't; the only thing that will matter is the 90/180 rule. Suppose you use up 85 days in May, June and July and then come back and use 60 days in September and October. When you leave Turkey towards the end of October Turkish border control are only interested in how many days you have been in Turkey in the previous 180 days - not in how many visas you have had. In your case the total days would be 145 and you would be thrown in gaol for life fined or maybe more {since you have "previous"}.

The day you leave Turkey....count back 180 days... You can not have been in the country for more than 90 days.... When you return ...the day you leave Turkey...count back 180 days.... Again you can not have been in the country for more than 90 days....it's Easy!!!!  The E Visa is just another way to get your Tenner....every time you enter the country!! Check valid date....
