  Cilla Black has just landed her first number one album. one day after her funeral. Well deserved

  and must be very pleasing for her kids. Better late than never Chuck.!

Wonderful, pleased for her family.  I watched the funeral on T.V. yesterday and it was beautiful, so well done and I really enjoyed Paul O'Grady's piece.  He made everyone laugh.   
I think it was a shame that Paul McCartney and Ringo could not have turned up.

  I believe they both had commitments in the US Jacqui but both sent

  floral tributes with hand written cards.An old scouser was interviewed

  during the coverage and he worked at the Cavern and paid Cilla £6, a gig.

I cannot believe the furore over the death of a second rate singer and trashy TV presenter .Cardboard scouser who traded on her mispronunciation of words like there,where and hair for years

Each to their own but her story is a great one for all aspiring singers.

I thought she was fairly good as a TV presenter, there have been many far far worse. Hated her singing voice, and her song choices.

I can't really fault her early songs. Bert Bacisname wrote some good uns.

Burt Bacharach came over to England to produce her recording "Alfie" and was so enthusiastic about her voice, he picked her over Dionne Warwick.  George Martin produced her and Andrew Lloyd Webber praised her voice.  No finer music people than these. Her voice, in her early years, was excellent, she had a great range.  People of my generation remember her as a very good singer.
We all have our opinions of entertainers, but I find Steve's  distasteful and very uncalled for after someone has passed away.  I am only glad her very loving and lovely family will never read this.

I agree with you Jacqui,  Cilla was a great entertainer as most people in that era enjoyed very much.
