Applying for residency
« on: December 01, 2014, 04:31:21 AM »
I have seen the place opposite the Mulberry Tree restaurant recommended on CBF several times.
We popped in last week and were quoted circa 500TL each which seemed a bit steep.
Are there any (reliable) cheaper alternatives ?

TIA

Mrs Hamlet & I both employed the services of Yakup to renew our residencies and we know of many others that have done so as well.

Yakup charges just 100tl for his services and earns every lira of it believe me.
He spends the best part of the day running (literally) around from one government department to another in order to get everything done.
I certainly wouldn't do all he does for £36, or less!

The other 400tl (approx) covers all the disbursements required to obtain your residency.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Yakup and I very rarely make recommendations.  8)

Yes Yakup helped us,and sorted problems we didn't realise we had,you can do it cheaper doing it yourself,
But he takes out, the hassle, of  Turkish red tape.

We used Yakup and will use him again.
I think you just misunderstood him about the cost.

I'd endorse Yakup too.  Although he did not do my residency but has done other jobs involving Turkish 'interfaces', government and otherwise, and for me he earned every penny with the run around he does to get you through all the hoops of what ever it is you are applying for or whatever.

Thanks for the advice (there is, after all an 80 dollar fee included in the price - and Yakups fee is now 150)

I wasn't aware his fee had gone up but it is over a year since he did mine and I understand he has a bit more paperwork to complete now.

What is the 80 Dollars for then Kevin?

$80 is the standard fee for the permit, plus 50TL for the card,
100TL passport translation,
150TL for Yakup and a 25TL admin fee.
So about £150 all up (plus health insurance of course)

Yes, we got Yakup to do ours this time even though we have done them ourselves in the past (old blue book job). It's the passport translation (joke or what) and noter fees which put the price up, this wasn't necessary before. Plus ours fall due at the end of August and I just couldn't face all the running around in the heat.

How long is the wait to get your residency back ,do they post it or do you collect it from passport police.
