As quoted in a previous post £8,000 per year for flood insurance, £666 per month!!!! Get real, you would certainly have to earn mega bucks to afford that, on top of your house/contents insurance and a mortgage. I am sure that if your are in a high income bracket, its not a problem.
Many council/housing estates have been flooded for the first time and probably had no idea that this would happen to them. You live where you work generally and don't have choices to move in this economic climate. If you have a job, which enables you to look after your family, you are blessed nowdays.
The relevant agencies need to invest hard cash, it will save misery, time and money in the long run.
