Fethiyespor rounded off their pre-season friendlies with a creditable 1-0 loss away to Super Lig side Antalyaspor on Monday night. However of the 5 friendlies played Fethiye managed only 1 victory and scored only 1 goal. Fethiye have also added to their foreign contingent of players by signing a new goalkeeper, from Azerbaijan, who joins an Albanian midfielder and a Cameroonian central defender. One player not joining the club is Irishman John McGrath who was on trail for the team in June but has now signed a one year deal with non league Alfreton Town.
Fethiye start the new season on Sunday, away at 1461 Trabzon, KO at 4.00pm.

Fethiyespor started life in PTT Lig 1 with an entertaining 2-3 defeat at Trabzon.Fethiye were 1-0 down after only 70 seconds when Sabri Turgut headed straight to a Trabzon player whose shot deflected off his leg into the net.Trabzon went  2-0 up after 49 minutes, but captain Turkkan scored with a header just 2 minutes later.Trabzon made it 3-1 on 66 mins but Onur Okan slotted home after 74 mins.Fethiye had a good chance to snatch a draw in the last minute but Emre Okur couldnt get enough on a teasing Okan free kick.
Fethiye only started with 4 of last seasons play-off team plus captain Turkkan who missed the play-offs through injury.Of the new boys Albanian, Krasniqi stood out forming a strong partnership in midfield with Turkkan.
Fethiye are at home next Sunday evening to newly promoted Balikesirspor who got their campaign off to a winning start with a 1-0 home victory.KO is 20.00.

Fethiyespor had a night to forget as they made their home debut in Lig 1 last night. They were trounced 4-0 by fellow newcomers Balikesirspor and down to 10 men after only 65 minutes before the match was abandoned after the referee was hit on the head by a missile thrown from the crowd. The TFF will now have to decide what the outcome will be, but Balikesirspor should be awarded the points and Fethiye's home game on the 15th Sept will probably be played behind closed doors.
Fethiye were second best before the sending off and the visitors had the man of the match in Ghanain Kwame Karikari who scored 2 and made one.Fethiye are away to Samsunspor next Sunday.

Fethiyespor slumped to another defeat last night losing 2_0 away to Samsunspor,. This already puts Fethiye at the bottom of the table along with Adanaspor who are the only teams in the league without a point.Fethiye are at home this weekend to Bucaspor ,but due to the crowd trouble in the last home game, the next 2 home games can only be watched by women and children.TIme for you to look out your shorts and old school tie Tinks  ;)

I feel this season, and at the end of the season.. it will all end in tears for Fethiyesport  :(  and  all this thats happening now for the club, so soon after  that illustrious ending to last season   :(
and why punish the fans ???  cant they `home in` on the guy responsble for the missile incident ??? and punish him or them ?? in the uk of course cctv cameras might  have helped  expose the thug (s)...  or some fan or fans might shop him or them to the authorities.. but as always we must  remember that `this is Turkey`and this must be how they punish...    shame ....as me and a couple of thousand supporters are very disappointed by all this  and missing two home games ... and I  go back to the uk at end of October  :(

Also strange for me is ( I watch two teams during the course of the year Cheltenam Town and Fethiyesport )   and for the last  three seasons they  have both `mirrored ` each other  with their league positions and performances  :o  its really weird .. even to the play offs finals  last season, only difference  being Cheltenham lost in the play offs....    and yep !!!!  Cheltenham are also equal bottom of division 2 at the moment, so here we go again  : :)
