All this is so interesting (love chickens by the way, alive or otherwise) We are always checking out areas for when we retire, and have more or less settled on Gunlukbasi for those very reasons above, mixed population and not a 'resort' , proper little town with decent shops, on the Dolmus route, and easy walking distance of the beach etc. Perfect, can't wait till it's my hometown

Angela you are so right, gublukbasi is so nice lovely turkish community away from the hustle an bustle of calis. nice people nice shopping. we bought an apartment  a couple of years ago with the help of cenk an mr scunner. .....best thing we ever did.

I love Gunlukbası, although our apartment is in Akarca, lovely there too but there are some lovely villas for sale across from the water park that I would love if I could afford it. So much to choose from really but as for the chickens - they are omnipresent.
