an interesting tale...........

I can't disagree with any of that and could actually (if I could be bothered) put together a study that quite clearly shows that the more educated an individual is, the more stunningly stupid they are when they come to buy a property in Turkey. But let's get back to the situation being discussed. Yes, people can be 'taken in' by a waiter with charm and nice smile in the relaxed holiday environment but this is someone who bought some time ago now looking to transfer ownership. It is not unreasonable to suggest that someone who has previous experience of the buying process in Turkey should now be conversant with the pitfalls of taking things on face value.

It has'nt been stated clearly where this ladies property is
Quote "I was talking to someone today in Calis"
I own a property in Sogut on the Bozburun peninsular, when I
bought my property nearly 8 years ago the law had changed and
foreigners were allowed to buy in villages, my property is in my
name, however the law then changed back I beleive in 2008. If I
were to sell my property now I could only sell to a Turk or a
foreigner with a turkish company. It is possible that this is
the case here ..if her property is somewhere other than Calis

It may be somewhere other than Calis yes - but if it is in an area like yours selling it via Turkish ownership (the solicitor) wouldn't then allow the Turk to sell it to her son. Unless he was Turkish/dual nationality/owned a Turkish company in which case she could sell it to him direct.
