Don't leave it until the last days of May. We went to pay ours for the 1st time last year, queued for almost 2 hours then didn't have enough money to pay, had to go back next day and queued for another 2 hours, never again.

He's right - I was stood next to him in the queue and you should have seen our faces when we had been in the queue for over an hour and one of the guys behind the counter shouted something in Turkish and about 20 Turks ran past us to go to a newly opened desk.

David - how much did you pay this year? I hope it was nothing like last year!

To get back to the original comment, we have just paid our council tax for this year and it was 371 YTL, it was 377 YTL last year. I understand all the factors about value of property on the Tapu, road work done etc.,etc.,but when people are paying 50/150 YTL it does make me wonder ??, it just goes to show it does seem to be a bit of a "lottery", or we really are that "posh" in Deliktas !!!  ;)

we have paid ours today and it was 30 lira extra to last years for both of us, quite happy with that as is only an increase of £6 each. no queues paid straight away.

Hi,

I am not over in Calis until 9th of June. I have read a reply that states the Council tax can be paid up until the end of May.
Could anyone please advise what will happen when I try to pay mine in June. Will I just get a percentage fine on top of the original charge?

Thanks in advance for any replies

Gav

You will get a fine but someone here in Calis was saying the other day it is only something like a few lira, but not having had it happen to me that figure could be wrong  ;)
