New Supermarket in Hisaronu
« on: February 10, 2010, 10:55:08 AM »
I had a wander around Hisaronu today and saw that yet another supermarket is openining up. "Alda" is now going to be in the village near to the Fez bar.
We have loads of supermarkets in Hisaronu and Ovacik now. Some are only open for the summer but we will be spoilt for choice!

Azda, Migros,Alda, Dia, Sok,Bim,Gempa are all here now and that is only the big supermarkets, there are also loads of smaller family stores here and a few pork shops as well which stock British favourites like Oxo cubes and Birds custard powder. How are they all going to make a profit?

They won't all make a profit so it is survival of the fittest but it seems to be a Turkish thing that someone opens a business so someone copies them next door instead of creating a new opportunity :)

No, I have just been told that Alda was there in the summer,I did not notice it before!Must be the summer heat.:D

Hope that there is enough custom for all these shops to survive.

Genpa closed last winter and opened again in summer, maybe the same will happen this year again, but do agree how are they all going to survive.

well, I'm not too sure that Genpa will open again....  Since this week the place is up for rent 'kiralilk'
And about ALDA, it was there before, and during summer you will notice that it is just AZDA again, but the cheaper version  (they have the same staff, going from one place to the other) just like Sok is actually Migros (but for a lot of products again cheaper)

Azda is like Aladdin's cave, absolutely everything on sale in there. Gardening items, footwear, cosmetics, electrical goods, ornaments and foodstuff and more. Migros is good for the butchery department and the Bim is near to where I live so I try shop at all of them to give them all some custom.
