The one I am thinking of has a soba as well and air-conditioning
I keep reading about 'sobas' but don't know exactly what they are and how they work. Does anyone have a picture of one - and can enlighten me?

It heats the room, by burning coal or wood. You can cook on them and even dry your clothes on the pipes.

They're cast iron, a bit like wood burners in UK but they have a big pipe to take the smoke/fumes outside. Supposed to be very efficient.

Soba is a brand name and is used to describe all manner of ovens and woodburners in Turkey. It's the same as using Hoover to describe vacuum cleaners.
