What Does Calis Need Most to Attract Tourists?
« Reply #80 on: April 01, 2013, 16:30:02 PM »
The picture was taken outside Serinkent and the pavement on both sides are now like that all of the way up to the Citroen showroom. They are now working their way down towards the beach with the trench to install the new electric cables. Next job is that they have to remove all of the overhead cables and the concrete poles or pylons that supported them. The road has also been dug up from one end to the other to install rainwater drainage and holes dug along the length on both sides installing grids. The phone guys will come along later and dig more holes to install fibre optic. But, we keep telling ourselves, it will all be worth it in the end.

as a non smoker the single most annoying thing for me is those who think any beach is an ashtray, I can still cringe at remembering my child picking up fag ends, I agree about litter and dog mess creating a very poor impression, but basically if you don't  treat your home and garden like that, then don't do it anywhere else  (here endeth the lesson   :-X)

I hope at least Baris Manco is put back in order soon.  What kind of impression must that give to the first time visitor to Calis

It'll look like a war zone with all that dug up at the one time!

Anne, the dolmus is trying to stick to the same route, unfortunately they are regularly closing different bits of Baris Manco as they dig a series of trenches across the road in order to install drains on either side. The drivers make a detour and get back onto their route ASAP.

Does Calis want more tourists? Do we want 100 people spending 1lira each or 1 person spending 100lira? It needs to be decided what market we want [customer profile] and then aim the marketing at that sector.
I suppose its a bit of cheek for a bunch of Brits to tell the Turks what they should do.

I would say it is nothing like as daft as the Turks not wanting to know what foreigners look for when they decide what country or resort to holiday in.
