I have to say that on a recent return trip to Calis/ Fethiye areas I found the standard/ quality of food had improved considerably from when we had left Turkey a few years ago.
Whilst ( very generally speaking) my experience of food in other areas of Europe including Spain would have been that Turkey was well behind I certainly could not say that now
Places which impressed me to the point of being at least as good and in some cases considerably better than their equivalent ( grade, location etc) here in Spain included Deniz Ati, Charcoal, Gustorante and Yengec
Whilst booze prices in Turkey are seriously higher the lower meal costs in good quality eateries often offset the total bill.
