it is an official "fit to fly document" which is obtained via Orthopaedic Outpatients
If you do not have this, you can be refused travel on the airline

The hospital have said not to get it wet.If i did have a problem and had to get a new cast at the hospital in calis does anybody know roughly what the cost is.

re cost, you may find the info and link in the following topic useful - assuming you can't get insurance for a pre existing condition you would need to pay a private practice or hospital or use the government hospital (Devlet).

Thankyou all for your comments.After much thought and Three hundred pounds more for the insurance i got the old bird to calis.We are sat here having a bottle or two of efes and in hindsight what was all the worry.
I suppose its the unknown but so long has we can all draw breath really it is no big deal.
I just thought that if i can ask the question in the first place it is only common courtesy to let you know how we got on.
Do not be afraid of the unknown.
